This week has been a week of firsts for me.
Posting that video on Monday was way out of my comfort zone.
For one, I had no idea how people would react to me sharing my story.
Whether I would be accepted when I shared it.
Those primal fears are what we deal with on a daily basis.
Because engrained deep within our psychology is this notion that if we deviate from the ordinary we might be ostracised, cast out or rejected.
The shame game is always on our minds.
Is this really worth it?
Will anyone get it?
Who's really interested?
But most of these thoughts are generally unfounded.
The number of people who have reached out to me has been incredible.
So many people could relate.
Everyone has such an awesome story.
A story that makes up who they are and why they act the way they do.
People love to talk about the amount they have "worked".
When it comes to my clients or my friends I prefer hearing how LITTLE they have done to achieve the same massive results.
The Pareto Principle - that notion that 20% of your actions create 80% of your results.
If you're anything like me you are often pulled into doing things, anything, to help move you along your journey.
And so, for me, it really takes building in a habit to slow things down and figure out what is really key.
Asking myself the right questions.
What should be prioritised?
What will get you the results you are seeking?
Where are you just doing work for the sake of doing work?
What will advance you in your life and your mission?
Unfortunately, the answers to most of those questions involve taking actions outside our comfort zone.
Getting out of your comfort zone sucks. It does. Plain and simple.
BUT.. it is also so freakin NECESSARY!!
It's that breath of fresh air you've been looking to catch.
And the worst part is that it's simple.
It really is.
It's not easy but it's simple.
It's doing what is needed and required vs what is comfortable.
Next time you're thinking how much work should I do or put in to achieve a result instead ask yourself:
"If I wanted to skip the non-essential (basically cut out the BS) and get straight to the point what would that look like?"
Don't work hard. Work smart.
Do what you know is necessary.
You'll feel so much better for it.
Let's gooo 👊!
Happy Friday - keep rocking it! 😉
